Soldier injured in Pakistan firing along LoC

An Indian soldier was injured in Pakistani firing on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu region's Poonch district on Thursday, defence ministry sources said.
The sources told IANS here that "Lance Naik Bhupender Singh was injured in Pakistan Army sniper fire on the LoC in Krishna Ghati sector this (Thursday) evening."
The sources added that Pakistan's violation of the 2003 bilateral ceasefire started at 5.15 p.m.
"The injured soldier has sustained a bullet injury in the abdomen. He was evacuated to a hospital for treatment."
The Pakistan Army also violated the ceasefire in Bhimber Gali area in the same district on Wednesday evening.
Thursday's ceasefire violation came on a day when the chiefs of the Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers held a meeting in New Delhi to address the issue of ceasefire violations in Jammu and Kashmir. - IANS
