Ravi Shankar Prasad lashes out at Sonia
26-February-2020
Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday lashed out at Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi over her statement following the Delhi violence.
Shankar said: "Tension in Delhi should end. Many people are spreading violence here. At a time when Delhi is returning to peace, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's remark is untimely. When peace is required then there should be no politics".
"I condemn this statement of Sonia Gandhi," the Minister said.
Earlier, Sonia Gandhi in a statement blamed the Central government for the Delhi violence.
After holding a meeting with Congress leaders, Sonia Gandhi said: "What has happened in Delhi is a colossal failure of duty for which the entire responsibility must be borne by the Central government, particularly the Home Minister."
She also demanded Home Minister Amit Shah's resignation.
Prasad said that whether it was Balakot or Uri, the attitude of the Congress has come to the fore. Now when there is a need for peace in Delhi, then such a statement is condemnable.
Talking to the media in Delhi, the Union Minister termed the absence of the Congress from the banquet for US President Donald Trump as "cheap politics".
He warned the Congress not to indulge in "cheap and light politics".IANS
