Vigilance raid on ex-Cong Minister in Kerala continues
20-February-2020
The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau's (VACB) raid on house of V.S. Sivakumar, senior Congress legislator and former Health Minister, based on a complaint about disproportionate assets, which began here on Thursday morning continued even after 10 hours.
The VACB officials also searched residences of Sivakumar's three close aides. They too have been charged by the VACB with possessing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income. They are suspected to be owning Sivakumar's benami assets.
Sivakumar was Health and Devasom Minister in the Oommen Chandy (2011-16) cabinet.
Earlier this week, Sivakumar termed the VACB case as "nothing but settling political scores". "The VACB had conducted a detailed probe and given me a clean chit. The new complaint is based on an anonymous complainant," he said. - IANS
