19-February-2020
After Ram Mandir Trust's first meeting in New Delhi, BJP President J.P. Nadda congratulated the new post holders, including Mahant Nritya Gopal Das.
Nadda tweeted: "Today, in the first meeting of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust, I am heartened to know that the ever-struggling Mahant Nritya Gopal Das ji is made President, Vishwa Hindu Parishad Vice President Shri Champat Rai ji as General Secretary and Pujya Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj as Treasurer for the Ram Temple. I express my greetings to all of them."
Earlier, Ayodhya seers were agitated over the exclusion of Nritya Gopal Das from the trust after which Union Home Minister Amit Shah stepped in to pacify the sants.
Nadda thanked the saints, social organizations and all the activists associated with the movement and the people "who played an important role in bringing this struggle of 500 years to the last stage".
"This is a big step towards realizing our resolve and feelings towards Ram temple," said Nadda.
The first meeting of the trust focuses on overseeing the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The venue of the meeting was the residence of K. Parasaran, the head of the trust.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 5 had announced the formation of the 15-member trust in Parliament. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust has five nominated members and three trustees. The trust was formed as per the Supreme Court verdict in the Ayodhya land dispute case in November last year. - IANS
