15-February-2020
The robbers who took away an ATM machine from Tughlakabad Extension area, could have felt cheated after seeing only Rs 50,000-Rs 55,000 in the machine, a police official told IANS on Saturday.
The police is currently trying to identify the robbers with the help of CCTV footage.
According to information, the robbers took away an ATM machine from Tughlakabad Extension area thinking that it will have lakhs of rupees in it. A case was filed in this regard in the Govindpuri police station.
Confirming the incident, South-East district DCP R.P. Meena told IANS: "We have collected some vital evidence from the spot and will soon nab the criminals."
"Initially, it was difficult to figure out how much cash was in the machine. Hence, we approached Axis Bank as the machine was of this bank. Thereafter, we came to know that only Rs 50,000-Rs 55,000 was in the machine," another senior police official said.
A senior official, who visited the spot, told IANS: "The machine was fixed strongly and it was very difficult to break it and steal the cash in a minimum span of time. Therefore, the robbers found it convenient to take away the machine and then break it open at some other place. But it would be a shock for them also that the machine contained only Rs 50,000." - IANS
