Highly disappointing budget, says Chhattisgarh CM
01-February-2020
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel dubbed the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament on Saturday "highly disappointing".
"The budget has failed to offer solution to basic problems that the country is facing right now... the budget is silent on reviving economy, creating job opportunities and tackling demand shortage in market, which is actually pushing the country towards economic slowdown," Baghel said as per a state government release.
Accusing the BJP-led Central government of "running away from basic issues and unnecessarily highlighting its failures as success", he alleged that the budget has no provision to handle stress in micro and small enterprises (MSE).
"The budget is also silent on encouraging food processing sector, and overall this budget will lead to rise in unemployment rather than reviving economy," Baghel added.IANS
