Nitish-led alliance to hold joint rallies in Bihar

Bihar's ruling alliance led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will hold joint rallies across the state to bolster its fortunes in the upcoming assembly elections, an official said on Tuesday.
The first joint rally of the Janata Dal-United (JD-U), the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) would be held in Patna.
"The grand alliance would hold a joint rally here soon. It will be followed by similar rallies across the state ahead of the polls," JD-U spokesperson Sanjay Singh said.
Singh, a close aide of Nitish, said top leaders of the alliance. including Nitish, JD-U president Sharad Yadav, RJD chief Lalu Prasad, would address the rallies.
"The date of the rally would be finalised soon," he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also address three rallies in Bihar this month. The rallies would be held at Gaya on August 9, Saharsa on August 18 and Bhagalpur on August 30.
Assembly elections in the state are scheduled for later this year. - IANS
