The Haryana Police has arrested a shooter of notorious Ravi alias Commando gang from Panipat district and recovered a country-made pistol from his possession.
According to a police spokesman, the accused was involved in several criminal cases, including murder, in many districts of the state.
"Acting on a tip-off, a team of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) nabbed Kuldeep alias Balla from near Chulkana Mod in Panipat district. He was reportedly roaming in the area along with the illegal weapon to commit another crime," the spokesperson said.
"During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that the arrested accused with a criminal record was a member of Ravi alias Commando gang," he said.
Ravi was previously arrested by CIA in March last year on charges of possessing illegal weapons. He walked out of Karnal jail on bail about four months ago. A case under the Arms Act was registered and a probe is still on.-IANS
