A butterfly park will soon add to the charm of well-known tourist spot Mandu in Dhar district, visited by hundreds of tourists for a tour of the medieval fort of Mandu and to hear about the legendary love story of Baaz Bahadur and Rani Roopmati.

The butterfly park is being set up in front of the Sagar Talaab adjacent to Rani Roopmati Road on a four-hectare plot there, which will house swarms of butterflies from more than 100 species and different hues.

The MP Forest Department is constructing the butterfly park at a cost of Rs 1.8 crore. Flowering plants of different species have been planted and other arrangements and facilities put in place to house the butterflies.

Forest Minister Umang Singhar said that efforts are on to house all species of butterflies found in Madhya Pradesh and even from outside the state at the park.
