Congressmen show black flag to Modi, shout 'go back'
12-January-2020
A group of Congressmen shouted "go back Modi" and showed the black flag to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he was entering the Netaji Indoor Stadium for the inaugural function of the sesquicentenary celebration of the Kolkata Port Trust on Sunday.
The handful of Congress activists, who had assembled near the VIP gate of the venue, staged the demonstration despite the presence of huge police contingent.
"Go back Modi", they shouted, waving the black cloth on their hands.
Momentarily taken aback, the police then swung into action, and tried to thwart the protest. But the demonstrators grew aggressive and tried to force their way into the stadium by overcoming the police barricade.
The police rounded up some of the demonstrators, who were taken to the city police headquarters at Lalbazar.IANS
