President greets Algeria on Independence Day eve

President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday greeted the government and people of Algeria on the eve of the country's Independence Day, reiterating India's commitment to enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations.
In a message to his Algerian counterpart, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the president said: "On behalf of the government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to extend to you and to the people of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your Independence Day."
Adding that India cherished its warm and friendly relations with Algeria, Mukherjee said: "I would like to reiterate India's commitment to enhancing our bilateral relations in the coming months to new areas of co-operation, as identified by our two sides."
"Please accept, Excellency, my good wishes for Your Excellency's good health and well being as well as for the progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Algeria," he said.
