24-December-2019
The Rajasthan police will establish Mahila Shakti Self-Defence Centres in all the districts of the state from January 1 to ensure the safety of women and girls by training them in self-defence, police officials confirmed on Tuesday.
Necessary instructions have been issued by Director General of Police Bhupendra Singh to all the range Inspector Generals and district Superintendents of Police in this regard.
Singh said the police will open self-defence centres from January 1 with the objective of ensuring the safety of women and girls in the state, while empowering them for self-defence. It will also make them aware of their rights and laws, and check crime against women.
Singh said that any working woman, housewife, girl student or any institute which wants the female staff of their organisation to be a part of this drive can enrol at the self-defence training centres.
He informed that this training programme will be of seven days duration during which training will be imparted by master trainers free of cost.
Registrations can be done at these centres before December 31, 2019.
However, if someone misses the deadline, the registration can also be done during the training period which shall be looked into by the nodal officer of the district.IANS
