BJP MLA'S relative dies of poisoning
23-December-2019
The relative of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA allegedly committed suicide after consuming a poisonous substance at his house in Uttar Pradesh's Banda district.
However, Dinesh Dwiwedi, the father of the deceased, claimed that his son Raghvendra, 25, had consumed the poisonous substance at the Civil Lines police outpost on Saturday where he was called over to settle a monetary dispute.
According to reports, a dispute took place between Raghvendra and Karan Singh on Friday and the two were called to broker peace at a police outpost.
"Raghvendra came home and his condition began deteriorating even before he could have a glass of water," the father said. Dinesh Dwiwedi is a relative of the local BJP MLA Prakash Dwiwedi.
Circle Officer Alok Mishra, however, said Raghvendra died at his house in the Chhibanv village in Banda.
However, in view of the claim made by Dinesh Dwiwedi, the Additional Superintendent of Police, Lal Bharat Kumar Pal said that the matter was being probed.IANS
