Spotify reveals Delhi's music trends for 2019

What did Delhi listen to in 2019? Spotify India, in its year-end statistics for the year, said that the national capital listened to Arijit Singh, Tanishk Bagchi, Neha Kakkar and Badshah the most on its platform.

The same artistes were also loved the most in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and West Bengal.

The top-streamed songs in Delhi were ‘Senorita' by Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes; Tujhe Kitna Chahne Lage (From "Kabir Singh") by Arijit Singh, Mithoon; and Bekhayali (From "Kabir Singh") by Sachet Tandon and Parampara Thakur.

As per Spotify, the capital listened the most to these genres: Desi Pop, Modern Bollywood, and Sufi. Love and Chill defined the top moods of all of India, based on the state-wise consumption of Spotify's mood-themed playlists. 'Kabir Singh' remained the top-streamed album.

Specifically, for Punjab, a state which has given India some of its most-loved musical artistes and tracks, Sidhu Moose Wala, Maninder Buttar and Karan Aujla were also added to the most popular artistes.

Anirudh Ravichander and Sid Sriram are favorites across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.

The top-streamed K-Pop artistes in India were BTS, Blackpink and Twice.

For the world, the top-streamed artistes were Post Malone, Billie Eilish, and Ariana Grande. Globally, the most-streamed female artistes were Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Camila Cabello and Halsey.

Most-streamed global tracks were "Senorita", "bad guy","Sunflower", "7 Rings" and "Old Town Road-Remix". Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" remained the top song of the decade.IANS
