Four injured in Hyderabad defence lab blast

Four people were injured in an explosion in Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a defence laboratory, here on Saturday, BDL said.
The accident occurred in BDL premises in Kanchanbagh area when employees were disposing off waste explosive in a pit.
"Small quantity of waste explosive exploded while being disposed as a routine practice at a burning pit. Four workers were injured," a statement from BDL said.
The burning pit is one km away from the production facilities, said BDL, a central government enterprise under the defence ministry.
The injured were admitted to nearby Apollo DRDO Hospital. One of the injured is in critical condition.
A Telangana government official said five persons were injured and one of them was discharged after treatment.
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali visited the hospital and called on the injured. He assured all the support from the state government. - IANS
