Casualty scale of Delhi fire stuns hospital staff
08-December-2019
The scale of death and devastation caused by the early morning fire that engulfed a factory in a Delhi grain market has dumbfounded rescuers and hospital staff who are heroically rising to the occasion.
The constant stream of dead bodies and injured being rushed to the hospital is overwhelming for the hospital staff who confessed they never came across a tragedy of such a magnitude.
The Policemen stoically made their positions as they control the stream of kin of victims, well-wishers and VIPs making their way to find out details of the victims and help the follow up operations.
Undeterred by the pressure, hospital staff, and rescue workers were seen rushing to their duties. Kin and friends of the victims were seen shuttling between emergency wards and the mortuary in a bid to glean information about their dear ones.
The scale of human loss and injury is unprecedented since the infamous Uphaar fire tragedy which took place in 1997, when 59 people lost their lives and more than a hundred were injured.IANS
