Kolkata Drug peddler arrested with heroin

Kolkata Police on Saturday arrested a drug peddler allegedly carrying approximately 265 grams of heroin from northeastern part of the city, an officer said.
Acting on a credible source information, the officers and other personnel from the narcotics cell of the city police's detective department conducted a raid on Canal East Road under Narkeldanga police station and apprehended 42-year-old Md. Rashid with approximately 265 grams of a brownish powder said to be heroin.
"Rashid, a resident of R.G.J. Khan Road under Tiljala police station, could not render any satisfactory explanation for possessing the powder, and was arrested," said joint commissioner (crime) Murlidhar Sharma.
A case has been started at Narkeldanga police station against Rashid.IANS
