Unnao case: Govt will approach fast track court, says Yogi

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday expressed grief over the death of the Unnao rape victim. He said that the government will try to punish the accused as soon as possible by taking the matter to a fast track court.
The Chief Minister, in a statement, said: "The incident is very sad and unfortunate" and expressed his condolences to the family of the victim.
The victim, who had sustained over 90 per cent burns, was airlifted from Lucknow to Delhi late on Thursday evening and remained conscious till nine o'clock in the night. The doctors left no stone unturned to keep her conscious but she could not be saved.
Dr. Shalabh Kumar, chairman of the burns and plastics department at Safdarjung Hospital, said: "72 hours of onset are very important in such incidents. If only three days had gone well, the victim could have been saved. However, Unnao's daughter struggled for 44 hours."IANS
