Twitter abuzz over Maharashtra developments
24-November-2019
Even as the Supreme Court is seized of the matter of fast-paced political developments in Maharashtra, Twitter users on Sunday aired their views on the contentious issue of government formation.
Hashtag MahaMasterStroke trended with 38.9K tweets. A few users also posted memes on the issue.
One user posted pictures of an onion grower getting Rs 8 per kg for his produce, while it was selling for Rs 99 in the retail market.
"I have a faint hope that the Maharashtra government formation drama will be over by mid-December and local politicians will get some time to address common people's issues... Maharashtra CM is too busy in #MahaMasterstroke at the moment," tweeted a netizen.
One user commented: "#MahaMasterstroke Shiv Sena and Congress are hit with one shot... don't ever twist the people's mandate for one's own evil designs."
One member of the Twitterati made fun of the fact that while the media was reporting that the Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray was the consensus candidate of the Sena-NCP-Congress combine for the post of Chief Minister, the latest reports were mentioning Devendra Fadnavis' name.
A BJP supporter posted a meme of Union Home Minister Amit Shah with a caption that was a take on Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's movie dialogue: "Come to power, not in mind."IANS
