Quake jolts Andamans

A moderate intensity earthquake jolted the Andaman islands on Friday, said an official of the India Meteorological Department here.
"Earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale has hit Andaman region at 2.29 p.m.," an IMD official told IANS.
The depth of the earthquake was measured as 10 km, said the IMD in a statement.
Officials said there were no immediate reports of damage to property or loss of life.
The tremors in Andaman region come within a week of the massive quake that hit Nepal and some parts of India on April 25. - IANS
