Seshan exercised his powers for electoral democracy to shine: Stalin

DMK President M.K. Stalin on Monday said the late Chief Election Commissioner T.N. Seshan exercised his powers so that electoral democracy shone brightly in the country.
Seshan passed away on Sunday at the age of 86 at his residence in Chennai.
Condoling Seshan's death, Stalin in a statement issued here said he exercised all his powers as Chief Election Commissioner to hold independent and honest elections in the country so that electoral democracy shone brightly in the country.
Stalin said Seshan was an example for being strict, honest, objective and his death is a big loss not only for the country but also for all those political parties wishing democracy.
The founder of MNM party Kamal Hassan in a tweet said: "TN Seshan will be remembered as an embodiment of courage & conviction.A It was he who brought the powerful role of the "Election Commission" into the drawing room discussion of the Common Man."IANS
