Italy will seek European unity on issues including Turkey's current military offensive in northern Syria and Britain's planned withdrawal from the EU at the bloc's summit this week, Premier Giuseppe Conte said on Wednesday.
"From the discussions on Turkey to Brexit, the next long-term budget, enlargement and climate change, Italy intends play its part to ensure European cohesion," he said.
"I believe it is essential to work together in a constructive and united way, especially as the new EU executive takes office (in November)," Conte added.
Conte and other EU leaders are due to attend the key European Council summit in Brussels on Thursday and Friday.
