15-October-2019
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out raids after the Prime Minister Office alerted the agency of forgery being carried out by a Bengaluru-based man allegedly defaming judges.
The agency carried out raids at the residence of S. V. Srinivasa Rao in Bengaluru and recovered forged Prime Minister Office (PMO) officials' letters alleging that various judges were involved in corrupt practices and illegal acts.
The agency said that they had registered an FIR against Rao on October 1 after Prime Minister Office alerted it that forged letters with forged signatures are used by the accused and being sent to the Ministry of Law and Justice.
PMO said that in an alleged forged letter to the Ministry, Rao purportedly forged signatures of PMO officials and asked to carry out enquiry against various judges.
The agency has also recovered computer hard drives and other incriminating documents from Rao.IANS
