Johnson, Varadkar have "constructive" Brexit talks: Report

London

10-October-2019

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Irish counterpart, Leo Varadkar, agreed on Thursday that they can "see a pathway" to a possible Brexit deal after talks, local media reported.

BBC quoted Downing Street as saying that the two leaders held "detailed and constructive" talks on Britain's Brexit proposals and "both continue to believe that a deal is in everybody's interest."

Johnson has repeatedly insisted that his country will leave the European Union (EU) with or without a deal at the end of this month, Xinhua news agency reported.

A summit meeting of the EU members' leaders on October 17-18 is widely believed to be the last chance for Britain and the EU to agree a deal ahead of the October 31 Brexit deadline.IANS
