Disabled achievers feted at a function in Chennai

The annual CavinKare Ability Awards that is given in recognition of achievements by persons with disabilities went to Savita Singh of Uttar Pradesh, K Janarthanan (Chennai), Praveen Vyas (Jodhpur), Siddharth Taneja (Alwar) and S Ramakrishnan (Tirunelvei) for the year 2015.
The CavinKare Ability Awards are conducted jointly by CavinKare, a leading FMCG corporate and Ability Foundation, an NGO for the empowerment of persons with disabilities.
The awards recognize the achievement of people with disabilities from across the country - individuals who have defied conventional, social, attitudinal, physical and emotional barriers in pursuit of their dreams.
The awards fall in two categories, Eminence and Mastery, and include a citation, a trophy and cash prize of Rs.2 lakh and Rs. 1 lakh respectively.
