Cop throws tumbler at ex-Pakistan PM in custody

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had to face an officer's ire during his custody at the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The officer reportedly threw a tumbler at Abbasi. But the NAB rejected the allegations.
According to a report in Pakistani media, the NAB sources said during interrogation at the NAB's Rawalpindi office an officer first shouted at Abbasi then allegedly had a scuffle with him.
The other officials controlled the situation, sources said. The officer has handed over his report in the matter to the NAB's Rawalpindi Director General Irfan Naeem Mangi stating that Abbasi showed 'resistance' first.
Answering to a query in this regard, NAB spokesperson denied the incident and termed the media report 'false and baseless'.
Sources said the officer was appointed as a patrolling expert of the investigation team. He was trying to collect evidence against Abbasi in the liquified natural gas (LNG) corruption case.IANS
