Peace drawings by children adorn Colosseum in Rome
26-September-2019
More than 5,000 peace drawings by children from 128 countries, including India, are on display encircling the Colosseum in Rome from September 20-29.
Titled 'Colours of Peace', it is the world's largest such exhibition of peace drawings by children.
The international event began three years ago in response to a call from the United Nations for communities worldwide to celebrate the UN International Day of Peace on September 21, according to a press release.
It is organised by the non-profit organisation Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run and represents children's dreams for a better world.
Children from Goa participated in this event by sending some inspiring paintings.
The art works have been collected from school children who participated in the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run as well as from partner non-profit organisations.IANS
