26-September-2019
Seven people were killed near Jobner here on Thursday when a jeep they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck coming from the wrong side.
The deceased included four men and three women. Police officials reached at the accident site soon after getting the information and extricated the bodies from the mangle.
Police officials confirmed that the family was going to Kaazipura from Aasalpur Khataliyon ki Dhaani and had covered five kilometre of distance when a truck coming from wrong side collided with it.
The collision was so strong that it separated the jeep's engine from the main body and threw it several metres away.
The locals, meanwhile, protested at the site demanding to check the rampant movements of trucks. They alleged that the truck involved in the accident was stopped just a kilometre back for driving zigzag on the road.
The truck driver absconded soon after hitting the jeep, the police said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed condolences over the death.
In his tweet, he said, "Deeply anguished to know of the terrible road accident in Jobner, #Jaipur on Jaipur-Phalodi highway in which seven people have lost lives. My heart goes out to their family members and I pray to God to give them strength. Wish speedy recovery to those injured.#Rajasthan"IANS
