Prime Minister Narendra Modi's grand 'Howdy Modi' rally in Houston along with US President Donald Trump made headlines in the world media which described the event in glowing terms.
"Around 50,000 people gathered for what Mr Trump called a 'profoundly historic event' on Sunday in Houston. The 'Howdy, Modi!' event was billed as one of the largest ever receptions of a foreign leader in the US," the BBC said.
The New York Times noted that "Trump joined the 'Howdy, Modi' party here to proclaim, with the Indian Prime Minister, a great future of shared values and mutual reinforcement for the world's two largest democracies."
"That was some spectacle in Houston on Sunday with Donald Trump joining Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at NRG Stadium," said the Wall Street Journal.
According to the Washington Post: "Deafening drums marked the entrance of Trump and Modi as they clasped hands and walked across the stage in a packed Texas stadium, sending a message of unity between the world's two largest democracies."IANS
