Ayushman Bharat benefits 31,937 in Himachal

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said here on Monday, 31,937 people availed of the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in the first year in the state.
The government has spent over Rs 31 crore under this scheme.
Last year on this day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the scheme in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
On the completion of one year, Thakur urged doctors and other medical professionals to educate and help people in availing various health schemes.
Speaking at a function at the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Thakur said the vision of an healthy India could only be achieved with healthy citizens. The state has launched the Himachal Health Care Scheme to provide health insurance to families left out of the Ayushman Bharat Yojna.
Nearly 6.42 lakh families have been registered under the Himachal Health Care Scheme and Rs 37 crore has been spent on it. Rs 30 crore has been allocated from the Chief Minister Relief Fund for treatment of the poor patients during the period.
Thus, the state has spent about Rs 100 crore for ensuring treatment to the poor.IANS
