Navy's two-day meet to review works on ships, subs

A two-day meet to review progress of refits of ships and submarines as well as infrastructure projects of the Indian Navy was inaugurated in Visakhapatnam on Monday.
The mid-year refit and infrastructure review was chaired by Navy's Chief of Material Vice Admiral G.S. Pabby and was attended by a high-level delegation from various departments.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Naval Headquarters, the Eastern Naval Command, the Andaman & Nicobar Command, Naval Dockyards, Repair Yards and Material Organisations from Visakhapatnam and Port Blair.
Vice Admiral Pabby discussed issues on timely completion of quality refits and on achieving synergy between maintenance and logistics functions to overcome budgetary constraints and meet operational commitments.
The stakeholders came in for praise for ensuring continuous availability of all operational platforms and providing long-range support for the implementation of the Act East Policy of the government of India.IANS
