19-September-2019
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming trip to the US is set to be agenda-heavy with many issues figuring in the list of business.
Apart from bilateral discussion with US President Donald Trump, the Indian Premier is scheduled to meet corporate honchos from across industries.
Sources said Modi will hold a CEOs' roundtable at Houston on September 21 where top bosses of over a dozen companies like BP, Exxonmobil, Emerson Electric Company, Vinmar International and IHS Markit would join for discussion.
He is also expected to meet top executives of various start-ups and encourage them to have wide presence in India.
On bilateral level, he would discuss various trade pacts with his US counterpart. Besides co-operation in the field of defence and energy, the countries are likely to discuss action-steps for higher trade and commerce.
"The talks are also expected on commercial aviation front and Indian carriers' order to purchase more airlines from US aviation giant Boeing would figure over there," sources said.
PM Modi will be in the US from September 21 to 27. He will participate in a rally of Indian-Americans in Houston besides addressing the UN general assembly in New York.
In the bilateral discussion with President Trump, the issue of trade concessions extended to India under Generalised System of Preferences is expected to come up.IANS
