Z security cover for Kejriwal
10-February-2015
Delhi Police will provide Z category security cover, with at least 30 armed commandos, to AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal after he is elected the leader of the legislative party, an officer said Tuesday.
"He will be given Z category cover which includes Delhi Police armed commandos. They will be around 30 in number," a Delhi Police officer told IANS.
"It will be deployed soon after his appointment as the leader of legislative party," said the officer.
As per protocol, Delhi chief minister enjoys Z category cover due to threat perception.
Kejriwal, who lives in Ghaziabad, is currently protected by 12 police personnel, including an escort vehicle of the UP Police.
The Aam Aadmi Party is slated to win 67 seats in the 70-member Delhi assembly. Kejriwal has said he will take oath Saturday as the chief minister. - IANS
