Two policemen killed in Chhattisgarh Maoist attack

Two policemen were killed and six people, including two civilians, sustained bullet wounds Monday in an attack by Maoists on security forces in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region, police said.
Dozens of heavily-armed Maoists fired at a joint search team of the Border Security Force and police in Pakhanjur in Kanker district.
Station House Officer Avinash Sharma and constable Sonu were killed in the attack.
The security forces had received inputs about Maoists gathering at a forested patch in the area. The security personnel were on motorcycles when they were attacked, Additional Director General of Police (Naxal Operations) R.K. Vij told IANS.
He said at least three BSF men were among the injured and the government had rushed a chopper to airlift them to Raipur for treatment.
Reinforcements have been sent to the site to nab the attackers. - IANS
