Amazon announces contest for self-published Kindle authors

Amazon India on Thursday announced the third edition of Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) Pen to Publish Contest in three languages for authors who publish directly on the Amazon platform.
The contest is open to all genres in English, Hindi and Tamil from September 15-December 14.
To participate, authors must submit their original entries either in short-format (2,000-10,000 words) or long-format (more than 10,000 words) through Kindle Direct Publishing on Amazon.in.
As per Amazon, the contest jury includes popular authors like Durjoy Datta and Sudha Nair for English entries, Divya Prakash Dubey for Hindi entries, and Pa. Raghavan and C.A. Saravanakarthikeyan for Tamil entries.
The winner in the long-format category will be awarded Rs 5 lakh, and in the short-format the prize money is Rs 50,000. There will be two runners-up for each category.
Amazon will also reproduce the winning literary works on screen for AmazonPrime Video. More details can be found on kdp.amazon.com.IANS
