Lift breaks at under-construction DDA building, 12 injured

Around 12 people sustained injuries after the wire of a lift at an under construction DDA building broke in the Narela area of outer Delhi on Thursday morning, the police said.
According to the police, a police control room received a phone call about the incident at around 9 a.m.
"On reaching the spot at Mata Mansa Devi Road, it was found that the wire of a lift meant for taking construction material from the ground floor to upper floors of an under construction DDA building broke, causing injuries to 12 persons who were rushed to hospital," said Gaurav Sharma, Deputy commissioner of police (Outer-North).
Police said that one of the injured, identified as Sandesh (35), who sustained head injuries, has been shifted to Lok Nayak hospital, while others are being treated at SRHC Hospital.
"A case for causing injuries due to negligence has being registered against the contractor/construction company," Sharma said. IANS
