SC issues notice to professor for 'threatening' senior advocate

The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued a notice to Chennai-based professor N. Shanmughan in connection with a contempt petition filed by senior advocate Rajeev Dhavan, alleging that the professor had threatened him for representing the Muslim side in the Ayodhya title dispute case.
The 88-year-old professor would have to make a personal appearance before the court in accordance with the notice issued on the contempt petition.
The professor had allegedly cursed Dhavan for appearing for the Muslim parties in the top court.
