Missing Telangana student in UK remains untraced
27-August-2019
A 23-year-old student from Telangana, who went missing in Britain last week, remained untraced, his family members said on Tuesday.
Ujwal Sriharsha, who hails from the state's Khammam district and was pursuing MS at Queen Mary University of London, went missing on August 22.
His father Uday Pratap, who is President of BJP's Khammam district unit, is planning to leave for London.
Sriharsha, who graduated from BITS Pilani, Hyderabad, had gone to London last year and was doing his MS in Artificial Intelligence.
The student, who used to call his parents every day, last spoke to his mother over phone on August 21. The next day when the parents tried to contact him, there was no response.
The London police later informed them that their son was missing. His backpack was found at the top of cliffs at Beachy Head, Eastbourne, Sussex.
While the police suspect that he may have ended his life, the family is not ready to believe this as there were apparently no reasons for him to take the extreme step.
The BJP leader has appealed Union Minister of State for Home G. Kishan Reddy, who is from Telangana, to request the Ministry of External Affairs to extend necessary assistance to them. IANS
