Car carrying 2 liquor smugglers falls into pond, 1 dead

A car with two alleged liquor smugglers fell into a pond in Delhi's Rohini area when the driver reportedly lost control, police said on Tuesday, adding that one of the persons in the car died while the other one is untraceable.
The incident took place during the early hours of Monday when the two men were transporting illicit liquor in their Tata Safari car. While the body of Pushpender (22) who hails from Uttar Pradesh was recovered, the police is trying to trace the other man.
On receiving a call from residents of Kanjhawala near Rohini, a team was sent to the spot. While in the morning, the police could only recover the car which had illicit liquor bottles, later in the day one body was found floating in the pond, said S.D. Mishra, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rohini.
The body was taken to a hospital and the exact cause of death can be ascertained only after the autopsy, he said.
