Labour mowed down by truck in north Delhi

A 55-year-old labourer was allegedly mowed down by a truck near north Delhi's Azadpur Mandi, police said on Friday.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Moolchand, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Azamgarh who was working at a transport company in Azadpur Mandi.
"A PCR call was received around 12 a.m. on Thursday night informing about the incident. A police team reached the spot and took Moolchand to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead," said a senior police officer.
During initial investigation, it was found that Moolchand along with an another labourer were waiting to load a truck in Azadpur Mandi when a speeding truck hit him and fled from the spot, police said.
"A case under relevant sections has been registered at Mahendra Park police station. We are checking the CCTV cameras installed in the area to identify the truck and the accused," said the police official, adding that the body of the deceased was handed over to his family on Friday after the autopsy.
