Not embarrassed by SC order: CBI director
20-November-2014
CBI Director Ranjit Sinha Thursday said he was not embarrassed by the Supreme Court order for him to recuse himself from the investigation and prosecution of the 2G scam case.
"There is no embarrassment. I will abide by the SC order on recusing myself," Sinha told a television channel.
The Supreme Court Thursday directed Sinha not to interfere in the 2G spectrum case and recuse himself from its investigation and prosecution.
The bench of Chief Justice H.L. Dattu, Justice Madan B. Lokur and Justice A.K. Sikri said the senior-most officer heading the investigation team probing the 2G case will take over the overall investigation.
The court said it was doing so as it would affect and hurt the image of the premier investigation agency. - IANS
