"After receiving a tip-off, a police team was sent to West Bengal. It arrested Aalamgir Aalam from the East Bardaman district on Saturday. He was brought to Seraikela-Kharsawa on Sunday," Kuldeep Dwivedi, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Kolhan region, told IANS.
This the fifth and another significant arrest in the case, he said and added, four Maoists had been arrested on July 20.
"The police have got significant clues about other Maoists involved in the incident. We will send each of the perpetrators behind the bars," Dwivedi said.
Five security personnel were killed by the Maharaj Parmanik Maoist group at Kukru Haat. Several Maoists had reached the market on bikes and attacked the security personnel who were having cold drinks.
They first hit the policemen with sharp edged weapons and then shot them with pistols and revolvers. They also looted weapons, money and other things of the policemen. IANS
