The Special Cell of Delhi Police has seized over 260 jute bags containing around 130 kg of soaked and dried Afghan heroin from a container in Navi Mumbai, an official said on Friday.
"Total recoveries in ongoing operation now exceed 330 kg with a street value of about Rs 1,320 crore," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Manishi Chandra.
Two people, including the Delhi-based mastermind of the ring and an Afghan national from Kandahar in Afghanistan, have been arrested.
The consignment originated from Herat in Afghanistan and was smuggled to Mumbai via Bandar Abbas in Iran by sea under the cover of basil seed consignment.
Earlier, the police had arrested seven persons and seized around 200 kg of heroin as part of an ongoing crackdown on drugs. IANS
