Sonia meets MPs regarding Parliament business
New Delhi

Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chief Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday chaired a meeting of party MPs here to prepare strategies in Parliament to block bills in the Rajya Sabha not acceptable to the opposition.
While the RTI Amendment Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on Monday amid strong protests by the opposition, it will be tabled on Wednesday in the Rajya Sabha where the government is still outnumbered.
The former Congress President has accused the government of weakening the Bill and said that it was "hell bent on completely subverting the historic RTI Act of 2005".
The opposition wants the Bill withdrawn and sent to a parliamentary committee for scrutiny. IANS
