One cop, several others hurt in Bengal clashes

Several persons, including a police officer, were injured in clashes between workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal, the police said on Wednesday.
Amidst prohibitory orders at Bhatpara of the North 24 Parganas district, miscreants exploded bombs on Tuesday night.
A clash between the TMC and the BJP supporters was averted at Keshpur in the West Midnapore district. Over 150 TMC and 50 BJP workers had gathered following a disagreement. But the police intervened and dispersed the mob, said an officer of Keshpur police station.
At Suri of the Birbhum district, a large number of policemen were delpoyed after miscreants exploded bombs.
Two BJP activists were allegedly thrashed by TMC workers in at Khardah in the North 24 Parganas district. IANS
