Two arrested for assaulting a man in Delhi

The police on Tuesday arrested two of the three persons accused of assaulting a man in south Delhi.
The victim, identified as Pranay Pardhan of Darjeeling in West Bengal, was allegedly attacked by three men -- Yogesh (19), Saurav (23) and Vishal -- in the Kotla Mubarakpur area at 2.15 a.m., the police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Vijay Kumar said Pradhan was seriously injured after one of the accused hit him with a wooden plank. He was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital by his friends accompanying him when the incident took place.
Nitish, a friend of Pranay, informed the police that one of the accused attacked the victim with a wooden plank while they were returning home after attending a birthday party. Two other accused also took part in the assault.
"We have apprehended Yogesh and Saurav, while teams have been formed to arrest Vishal," said Kumar.
A case of attempt to murder with other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code have been registered. IANS
