3 burglars held for stealing laptops from hostels, PGs

The Delhi Police has arrested three notorious burglars on for stealing laptops and mobile phones from paying guest accommodations and hostels where students reside in large numbers in Delhi and adjoining districts, a police officer said on Sunday.
"Mohd Sahid, 24, Ibne Ali, 26, and Abdul Rehman, 25, all natives of Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor and currently staying in Jamia Nagar in south Delhi, were arrested on Saturday night from Saket when they came to strike in guest houses and PGs to commit robberies," Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar said.
"An alert team of Special Staff headed by Inspector P.K. Jha and Constable Irshad suspected the activities of all three on a bike. When they were signalled to stop, they tried to escape. They were later apprehended following a short chase," the DCP added.
"16 laptops, 14 mobile phones, four expensive watches and a stolen bike used in the commission of the crimes were recovered from their hideout," he added.
"During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they used to target PGs and hostels and places that are commonly used by students in Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, and Greater Noida. They conducted a recee during the daytime to targets PGs and hostels and burgled them in the night and early hours while entering through windows," he said.IANS
