A train driver on Wednesday rescued and admitted a man to a hospital after he was hit by the train. The driver, who rescued the man, was piloting the train.
When B. Narayan Rao was driving the Baripada-Balasore DMU train early on Wednesday morning, daily labourer Chittaranjan Hati accidentally came in front of the train and lost both his legs in the accident.
However, the driver brought the train to a halt and took the injured to the Baripada railway station. He was later admitted to Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada.
The train driver also brought one of the severed legs to the hospital. However, he could not locate the second leg.
"The patient has lost both his legs. Four litres of blood transfusion have been done so far. His condition is critical," Casualty Medical Officer, Bijaya Narayan Rout told the media. IANS
