Gay youth commits suicide in Chennai
10-July-2019
A 19-year-old gay youth from Mumbai allegedly committed suicide here by jumping into the sea, police said.
Avinshu Patel was working in a salon here and he had posted his decision to end his life on his Facebook page on July 2.
His body washed ashore later and local residents informed the police who are probing the case.
"Everyone knows I am a boy. But the way I walk, think and talk is like a girl. People in India do not like that," Patel had posted.
He also said that his parents must not be blamed and should be given help.
Patel ended the post saying in his next birth he would like "to be born as a perfect boy or perfect girl with good thinking".
Patel's body was handed over to his father. The body was taken to Mumbai. IANS
