The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Chairman, Northern Region, Sameer Gupta on Friday hailed the Union Budget, saying it is aimed at reaching a $5 trillion economy in the next few years.

He said the Budget has given attention to all major aspects of the economy such as enhancing farmers' income, infrastructure development, rural and urban development and empowering youth and women.

"We are happy that many of our recommendations were incorporated in the Budget,"he told IANS.

Sanjay Khurana, Chairman, CII Regional Committee, said the smooth flow of credit to micro, small and medium enterprises has been encouraging component of the Budget.

Mahindra & Mahindra (Swaraj division) Chairman Harish Chavan said transforming the rural infrastructure, agricultural diversification and focus on fisheries, cattle field and milk were some of the unique features announced by the Finance Minister.IANS
